Remove Checkout Address Field - Please Help

Default Remove Checkout Address Field - Please Help

Hello

I use x-cart 5.2.6 Free Version
No Mods

Please Help me to remove the "Phone" Field in the Checkout page - We do not want the users phone number.

I have already tried to remove under the 'Store setup' > 'Cart & Checkout' > 'Address fields'. = This does not function. The Phone field will not disable.

Can anyone tell me the file path to remove this field manually?

Someone - Please Help!

Hello

I solved the problem myself after I took a step back and thought about
it!

What I did was manually turn off the "Phone" field in the database. This worked perfectly.

Masalanz it should work smoothly out of the box.

Could you, please, describe your steps more detailed? It works well on our installations.

Hello Xim

When I Tried to remove the "Phone" Field in the Checkout page using the

'Store setup' > 'Cart & Checkout' > 'Address fields' option. When I would uncheck the required and the Phone field check boxes and hit save the options would continually stay active.

So, I went to my database and found the Address Fields. I then changed the 2 "Phone" Fields that I wished to turn off from a 1 to a 0 and saved the changes.

Viola, the Phone field is now inactive.

This may be a bug in your X-Cart version. Is it 5.2.6, right?

In my local installation (the most recent 5.2.10) it works without any issues:
1. I untick the "Required" checkbox and disable the field be turning the green icon on the left into gray (http://nimb.ws/Z8S3AT)
2. The field disappears from the checkout page (http://nimb.ws/2kl8Xv)
