Yes upgrading users get the pro mod for 50% off.

CDSEO Upgrade process is as follows:

1) Uninstall the file edits for CDSEO Basic.
2) Upload the CDSEO Pro files and access the web based administration.
3) Follow the instructions to modify admin/install/basic_upgrade.php with the cdseo "folder" names i.e. $cdseo_cat $cdseo_prod
4) Run the CDSEO PRO installation and you will have the option to use your cdseo basic urls with cdseo pro, or auto-create new urls and automatically 301 redirect the old urls to the new. Optionally all BCSE’s meta tag mod information will be imported to CDSEO Pro.
5) Uninstall the BCSE’s meta tag mods (not necessary but ideal).

Hi Carl,

I did both the upgrade to 4.1.10 and CDSEO Pro today and both are running fine!

For anyone not wanting to go through the uninstall of CDSEO Basic I highly recommend paying for the install. I like to tinker and the little bit of trial and error I had to do was ok for me.

I love the import/export feature. It saved me a tremendous amount of time ediiting my categories today.

Thank you Jon for CDSEO Pro. You did an amazing job!!

Paul

p.s. Carl, email me if you want to know more about my upgrade.

You can thus remove changes in the database (cdseolink):
PHP Code:
ALTER TABLE xcart_products  DROP `cdseo_url`;
ALTER TABLE xcart_categories DROP `cdseo_url`;

Before removing the module do recommend the full Back-up site.

I did not remove any database information because I'm having CDSEO Pro do the automatic 301 redirect for my old URLs.

Please see Jon's post #7

If they have index cdseo urls, they will want to do 301 redirects to prevent broken links if uninstalling. If they are uninstalling to upgrade to cdseo pro this will happen automatically.

Hi Paul, after upgrade you can remove the old database fields (cdseo_url) in the categories and products tables. The upgrade writes them to a a new cdseo_url_history table.

You follow the original installation instructions in reverse to revert the changes.

I am using CDSEO but I am having a hard time getting the import feature to work. I have over 2000 categories to edit so I would like to do it through a file.
I attemped to import a file with 6 entries but I got back the message "Import of 0 category entries have been completed"

I first did an export and used the same file format for the import.

Thank you
