I'm a little confused as to why there has been a LC development when QT said development had ceased? I don't want to go to the expense and hassle of upgrading if x-cart 5 comes out in less than 6 months.

Why can you guys not be more open about x-cart 5, what is, what features it will debut with and when to expect it?

The new LC version 2.2.41 is mainly a bug-fix release for those customers who are still using LC v2.2 and do not intend to move to the new platform (X-Cart 5.0) that will replace both LiteCommerce v2 and X-Cart v4 platforms.

Thanks for the reply. The problem is all Litecommerce users are still using Litecommerce and we are probably all intending to switch to X-cart 5 (or 3rd party cart) because QT stated development had ceased. Bug fixes and tweaks are still development in my book. Are you saying that Litecommerce will continue to be supported (bug fixes) until x-cart 5 is released?

I am still confused about what to do. I really wish you would give us some details on X-cart 5. Moving to a 3rd party cart seems like my only option

LC version 2.2.41 is the last bug-fix release for the old LC platform v2.2.

All new bug-fixes/improvements/features will be implemented for the new X-Cart 5 platform.

So just to 100% clarify. You have effectively ceased supporting Litecommerce 2.2. You have no plans to do any more bug fixes. Even though you have not released the replacement, or even told us what is in it.

I note that you are still selling it (albeit with a recommendation that people use ECWID instead)

Somewhat poor practice! If you have ceased support you should stop selling.

Hi!

Although we don't plan to add new features to LiteCommerce 2.2, we do support LiteCommerce 2.2 users and provide them with patches fixing bugs (if any). LiteCommerce 2.2.41 is a new LiteCommerce 2.2 build that includes patches released by our support engineers, not a new LiteCommerce version.

LiteCommerce 2.2 is a very stable and easy-to-use platform. Whilst there are merchants considering LiteCommerce 2.2 as a solution that meets their needs better than other e-commerce solution, we will continue its sales.

We can't provide more info on the LiteCommerce future right now. However we are still working on a new e-commerce platform that will replace both X-Cart 4.x and LiteCommerce 2.2 some day. Most likely the new platform will utilize some LC 2.2 components and ideas (it already includes modified portions of the LiteCommerce code).

Richard and I are in a very similar position. We both run our own businesses. We have physical shops and use Litecommerce for our web operations.
We are hands on and don't have a team of web developers, we deal with it all ourselves.
Richard and I both think Litecommerce is an excellent product that has been at the heart of our web success and I personally have been very happy with Qualiteam's support.

But we have been banging our heads against the wall with you guys for at least two years. Why can you not be honest and up front about the product developments. Other cart companies can't wait to give their customers insight into what is in the pipe line.

It is so frustrating when our competitors are upgrading their websites using other carts and offering their customers amazing features and admin innovations that would drive costs down. I've always given the example of the terrible search option in Litecommerce that losses me sales everyday because it fails to show products I have in stock when customers search for them.

I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand I am very happy with Qualiteam's support. I know x-cart 5 will probably be the best cart to make a transition to but with every month that passes my compeitors are gaining ground. I cannot continue to sit still in the dark while you announce that x-cart 5 will be released someday. You guys must know if it will be ready by the summer or if the completion date must be pushed back. You must know what some of the features will be. If you can be honest about things we can determin the best path for our business.

I urge you take this to the top of Qualiteam. I want to continue working with you and using your products and services to grow my business but I don't like this them and us approch and being kept in the dark. It's a bad business relationship.
