The WYSIWYG (tinyMCE) is adding strange characters. It strips code and replaces it with question mark. (See attached).

When I enter ™ for the trademark symbol, all is fine until I save the page then when you view the WYSIWYG editor, all of those are changed to weird characters.

When the page is saved again, whether the editor is used or not, those weird characters show on the frontend.

Could you please install fresh 5.2.5 near your existing store and check the problem there? Does it still exist on fresh installation?

Ok, I have another install of 5.2.5 installed and i get the same issue. White question mark inside black diamond.

Please, drop a message to support@x-cart.com about this issue. I am not able to replicate the problem on my local installation, so it looks like the investigation has to be made on your server.

Does the new update for this TinyMCE module fix this problem?

This was rather embarrassing and I actually paid a developer to fix it and that didn't work either.

When modules are updated is there any way for us to see what has changed?

To be honest, I am not sure about what is causing this issue, whether it is TinyMCE update or not. Also, I was never able to replicate the problem on my own. That is why I suggested to contact our support team about that.
