As you may have seen already, we have updated the X-Cart 4.x roadmap recently:

We've decided to completely remove Advanced Statistics module because it became outdated and can be substituted by services like Google Analytics, freeing a lot of space in your database and improving the store performance.
The Bestsellers module will be redesigned to use it's own data, so it will not require Advanced statistcs enabled anymore.

It is recommended to start using Google Analytics or any other statistics service right now because after upgrade to 4.6.2 old module data will be erased from database.

Anyone who still want to use Advanced Statistics may edit upgrade packs removing the deletion of module. We'll provide per such request a list of files/queries that should be kept.

I think this is a great move, Advanced statistics is a database bloat! Thanks guys.

Custom Order Statuses - FINALLY, Thank you!

I disagree with removing advanced stats. XC should have some kind of simple sales reporting tool. All I care about is simple completed order sales and I've had to do my own modifications just to get that. I'm positive it hurts potential sales to new customers because people have asked me.
All i need are:

Net Sales (Sum of Order subtotals) 52101.43
Shipping Total 7653.99
Coupon Discounts Total -1022.10
Other Discounts Total -0.00
Gift Certificates Used Total -0.00
Tax Total 1042.92
Payment Surcharges 0.00
Gross Sales 59776.24

for each day. I had to custom code that.

Adv Stats does not give you that. XC Is missing sales stats but this is different. All Adv Stats does nowdays is to grow your db with a lighting speed and to slow down your site.
It should have been taken out long time ago. Bestsellers should have been recoded not to depend on it long time ago...

Can you please give a ETA on the release date for these modules?

- X-Showroom - nice add-on to show products on rotating banners with their price, names and ability to add them to the cart.
- Buy More, Save More - the module that will remind your customers about discounts they can get if they spend a little bit more.
- SMS Notifications - use SMS as additional channel to inform your staff and customers

Unfortunately we cannot provide you with exact ETA. However we do our best to release these modules as soon as possible

QT recommended 3 months ago that I stop using Adv Stats and hook onto Google Analytics. They were absolutely right! GA is amazing and gives me way more without bloating my DB. Good move to recognize what should not be in XC anymore. Thanks.
