I would like to add product sku in the default search of Altered cart's Smart seach MOD. I had done this with X-carts search but the smart search mod from Altered cart does not offer this functionality. Although It shold be possible with a litle code change. Has anyone done this?

Ok if I enter the whole sku ex: xe7009 it returns the product but if I search for xe I get no results. I would like to get all of the sku's that start with xe or contain xe

Ah, that is different. I'd suggest opening a ticket with AlteredCart and ask them about this specifically.

This sounds to me like a configuration issue. Many times smarter searches like this will restrict the search to be *atleast* 3 characters long. This is usually in the best interests of you because if someone just searches for "a" for example, that would likely match each and every product. If you have a lot of products, this will greatly slow down your site when someone searches for something like this.

Bill should be able to help you out. I can't remember if he has a configuration option for how "short" a search can be, but likely there is.
