Upgrade to 5.2 fails

The resolution to my problem is paying for the 1 year upgrade which I did. I backed up the SQL database and did the upgrade. Now 70% of my products are obliterated.

If I click on a category it shows me:

Page not found

The requested page could not be found.

If I do a search for products under the category then I can find 20 of 160 products.

Anyone get an answer as to why a "Just downloaded, clean, fresh copy" of v5.2.3 installs but does not show a skin, even the default skin is not showing. Its just a Text listing? Anyone else having this issue?

Still waiting in line for Tech support to have a look.

@SGS, my local installation of 5.2.3 works pretty well. Skin looks fine. Could you please send me a link to your web-store that has the problem with the skin? Thank you.

@cerberuscoins, could you please let me know whether you managed to fix the problem with products after upgrade or it is still actual for you?

Ok Never mind,

I find the problem after 3 days of serious searching and waiting to hear from "QT".... It's ok "QT" I got this one. I know your busy rushing out updates and new products and then rushing to fix the fix.

Here is what fixed my simple but yet "X-cart Update" caused problem. Seems in the xcart/var/htaccess file this code does not work. Was blocking all image access. Even though this was a new, clean, fresh install of v5.2.3 right out of the box, no mod's or change by me at all.

Options -Indexes

Deny from all
<Files ~ ".(?i:gif|jpe?g|png|css|js)$">
Allow from all
</Files>

To fix it I just had to comment it out, like this....

Options -Indexes

#Deny from all
#<Files ~ ".(?i:gif|jpe?g|png|css|js)$">
# Allow from all
#</Files>

Now my store is back, fully functioning but now I have no htaccess file for that directory that is working... Any way to fix it so it is safe guarded as well as works, allowing access to the images?

@SGS, could you please let me know what server you are using? I feel, this is Apache. What version of it, if I am right?

@cerberuscoins, do you have a backup of your database and files? If so, could you please ask your hosting team to recover your store from this backup, so it would be in pre-upgrade condition. This is the first step for you.

Yes Apache is correct. It is the only htaccess file that I am having issue with so for, all others seem to be fine. Hope this helps. Looking forward to a more excellent v5.2.3┘ I really do like the new improved look too. Now that I can see it┘

Ran through the various updates up to Ver. 5.2.3.

At the 5.2.3 update I received this OOPS error:
ERROR: "Includes\ErrorHandler::FATAL_ERROR" (code 2)

Cleared Cache (redeployed store), makes no difference.

Admin console now shows "Updates Available" in the header and the bell, but clicking on updates says "There are no updates available for your version." Everything else "seems" functional.

So the SQL backup I did cant be used for anything?

I contacted my webhost. They advised they it got backed up again yesterday so overwrote the backup from 7 days prior to that

Perhaps if the xcart ticket system people had gotten back to me 6 days ago when I lodged my support request then I could have got it backed up.

Now Ive lost 60 hours of adding products and don't have a store that works.
