Default Not able to update templates

OK I'm not exactly sure how to explain this but I will try.

I think I have done something stupid and I'm not sure how to fix it now. I needed to un-install frontpage extensions and then re-install them, when I did I believe it affected my .htaccess files.

Right now I'm trying to update some of my templates but they will not restore, change or anything. I've tried several times to update them but they will not change.

Anyone have any clue on how to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance

Shannon

I can't live with out them. I use front page to update the rest of my site.

Now I have done a few things looking for errors. I checked my data base, nothing wrong there. I ran cleanup.php. It did nothing.

I can go into the the templates and make changes but the site won't update. I've never had this problem before and have no clue what to do.

I seriously need to make some changes to the top of my site to reflect the rest of my site.

I'm currently running version 3.4.0. I've thought about updating to a more recent version but I tried before and it was really dificult.

look at the .htaccess in your root dir and see if that blocks anything and work backwards from there

I've looked at my HTACCESS file and this is what it says

DirectoryIndex index.html index.php

Now let me explain that the only .htaccess file I can find in my x-carts root directory is .htaccess.1074399413

I have no clue what else to do.

I did upgrade from 3.4.0-3.4.1 and as far as I know it went through sucessfully. I've tried to upgrade to the next newer version but that won't take now.
