As far as web server availability is concerned, yes it's on a ping check level. As for the X-Cart, it's a combination of aforementioned methods. X-Monitoring checks for PHP, SQL, HTML, specific text error messages on X-Cart home page.

Regarding the intervals, as I can see you've already found an answer according to your last message.

Oh, I forgot to answer the most important part (sorry, it's late evening here).

One of advantages of this extension is that it performs a client side request which doesn't affect store performance.
The X-Monitoring module makes a request and all other operations are performed on our server. In other words it doesn't load the server where X-Cart is installed and just respond with a result generated on our side.

Apologies for sidetracking the thread but would there ever be a function / module similar to the above to restore or revert changes after a data import?

Despise warning users to backup first it's amazing how many don't and this could be a great feature.

This module looks great BTW - keep them coming.

Why not? Thank you for the suggestion, we will contemplate this idea.

Thanks, could you please be more specific on this feature.

What information exactly should be backed up before import? A complete DB backup or only products data?

Hi mixon,

Thanks for the below and in my opinion whilst it would be ideal to have a full database backup - some users can have large databases which may introduce unnecessary delays in the import process. If the option could be available in the configuration of this element it would be good.

Ideally the feature would work like this.

1. User initiates an update via the import csv format.
2. Software reads the header of the import file and backs up that data (i.e if we see PRODUCT_OPTIONS in the header, then this data is backup up prior to the import taking place).
3. Import process runs and makes relevant changes in the database.
4. Import summary is presented with the option to view the changes made (so compares changes to recently made backup)
5. Should the result be different to the anticipated outcome, a revert option is available to simply restore the data to it's pre-import status.

It may also be an option to offer the revert feature on a line by line basis (via a check box if you wish to only revert a few items) or a 'full revert' which takes everything back to the pre-import stage.

Hope this makes sense and thanks for considering this.

Default Re: X-Monitoring service launched! (New Advanced plan is available)

So I installed XC 4.6.0 few days ago for testing purposes. X-Monitoring modules was active after installation (or maybe I turned it on/off for testing). Since then I am getting an email every day that the X-Monitoring service cannot connect to the module....

----------------------------------------
Dear Customer,

X-Monitoring service failed to connect to X-Monitoring
module:

* Store URL: http://192.168.0.50/XXXXX/xcart460

Please make sure the X-Monitoring module is enabled and
configured properly.

*
http://help.x-cart.com/index.php?title=X-Cart:X-Monitoring

X-Monitoring Team.

----------------------------------------

Yes - it cannot connect since this is first on internal network, I don't have X-Monitoring account and the service is OFF...
This is clearly a bug. Does it mean that if I want to just try the service and don't find it useful and turn the module off I have to receive this email all the time? I understand this is part of what the module does - to inform of issues with the site - but this email doesn't tell me there is a problem with the site but that it cannot connect with the module. Well maybe this was my intention - to not use the service. Anyone thought of that? I have no way of turning this emails off....

Do you mean that you have disabled the module in X-Cart admin backend and still get email notifications? If so, then yes it looks like a bug. I'll check it and get back to you soon.
