Question How about MagneticOne?

Does anyone have any experience with MagneticOne's All in One Product Feeds here http://www.magneticone.com/store/X.Cart.Modules...Mods/X.Cart.All.in.One.Product.Feeds ?

I was considering one of Firetank's mods. But since their support has been unresponsive for a few months, I shouldn't take a chance with them.

My opinion of MagneticOne is good. They are a fairly large company, and that comes with some peace of mind. X-cart is fairly low on their priority list right now. They seem more focused on other carts.

And is there a reason for that? Too many changes in XC? Too often? Inconsistency? Hard to keep up with it? Other carts are easier to support? They hate XC? They seem to have many XC mods and solutions

Its just an impression I have. Lately they seem to talk a lot about M, and they are working with CMS modules and transitions. I don't know for sure where their focus is, they have such a broad offering.

Also they list X-cart last in all menus and home page sliders. If it were alphabetical, Z cart should be last. They list M first, Z second.

Yeah i just found that out as they are not that interested in helping to get their feeds going in v4.6.

I have had problems with v4.6 and they are not talking to me now. Shame really.

My advice? Stay far, far away from this mod. It does not work out of the box. Support is terrible. After about three weeks they were able to get it to the point where it actually exported a file. The file does not work, however. Here are the remaining issues:

A.) Google Base Issues:
=========================
1.) The categories are not being exported correctly:
Here are examples of category/taxonomy errors copied and pasted directly from the errors in the Google Merchant Center:

1104110 Home & GardenHousehold Appliances 231
1106110 Home & GardenHousehold Appliances 279
1108110 Home & GardenHousehold Appliances 303
HPLX-SLF Home & GardenDecor > Picture Frames
1104210 Home & GardenHousehold Appliances

a.) There are to be no spaces surrounding the '>' character.
b.) It is not generating the '>' character for product for four of the items above.

2.) There is no Brand field being exported. This is required in google's feed. Where is it?

3.) Is there a way to update the Taxonomy structure when google updates theirs? This should be in a mysql table but I don't see any way to update this. How is this done?

4.) When I use the link suggested for a large number of products, here is what I get for finished output:
<html>
<head>
<title>404 - Not Found</title>
<style type="text/css">
td { font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt; }
</style>
</head>

<body bgcolor="#FFFFFF">

<table width=100% height=100%>
<tr><td align=center valign=middle>
<p><font size="3"><b>File Not Found ...</b></font></p>
<p>The requested file cannot be found on the server.</p>
<p><a href="/">Click here to visit our main page</a>.</p>
</td></tr></table>

</body>

</html>

Other problems:
===================
B.) Where do you configure the module? When I run the "TheFind.com" feed I get the following error:
=====
X-Cart Export All module by MagneticOne

TheFind.com export module is disabled.
Please enable module in admin section.

Current domain:
=====
So, TheFind.com feed does not work at all.

Hi

I have to disagree with this.

I have been communicating with MagneticOne and they have been very helpful with helping me get my feeds working.

The only thing i need to get working now is the MPN from variants which is a bit of code that i added to add MPN's to variants.

Other than this not being pulled through i would say their module works great. I have been offered to have this done for a price, which is fair enough.

However after reading this they may just get it going for me free

But that aside it does work great for me.

Cheers

I'm glad your experience has been different.

Did you not have issues with the google base feed leaving out the '>' characters and adding spaces between categories? This is a fundamental part of the feed that should not have issues. As of right now, until this is fixed, I have to go in and edit 7,000+ products manually using search and replace. That's just not good and should not be broken "out of the box."

And I'll be glad to update this thread if they get my feeds working, but as of right now it has not been a good experience to say the least.

Hi

I have just checked my file and the categories are as they should be. However if i do open my file the 'GTIN' numbers mess up and i get a lot of errors. However that is just excel i think.

My products are mostly on Pet products so maybe try that and see if that works. However i do get the 'space>space' between the categories.

Cheers
