I did everything in here for the 4.0.x and it says that it is working .. but i get no emails .. i see the log of the server live and i get a connection from the x-cart server to the smtp server but no emails out .. anyone with the same prob ??

I have one xcart license that I use for my own store. I am about to undertake building a store for a client and had pretty much decided to go with zencart for a number of reasons. I haven't been to the forums here in quite a while. However I thought before I started on their store I'd come back here and see what was new and if perhaps xcart might be a better fit for them.

I have to say that I was STUNNED to find out that authenticated SMTP is not a STANDARD feature in xcart! I've never thought about it much since my personal xcart store has remained on the same server for nearly 10 years and I've never needed authentication.

But the server my clients are placed on, linux running the lxadmin control panel, can ONLY send mail through authenticated SMTP. By what I am seeing this is becoming the norm.

Obviously xcart is behind the times in this regard, and won't be a suitable fit for this client or any others until they bring their cart up to date.

To xcart - maybe it would be best to stop working on 'add on' products that you sell for additional money, at least until you get the core cart up to date and functioning properly. Just my 2 cents.

Hi,

I have version 4.019. This is the latest stable version before 4.1. I have several mods because of now I cannot upgrade to 4.1, but this SMTP mailing is very interesting. As I see, it is not so easy to install this mod...Could somebody help me - who have the same version - how to set up SMTP mailing function? I would not like to misconfigure my site as it is a live shop...

Does this mean X-Cart made this work for you on a win server using SMTP? How many points did they charge you to do this? How fast was the turn around?

i would love to add SMTP to an x-cart 4.0.13... will any of the mods mentioned in this thread work? If not... can anyone provide instruction?
