There is no way to have a "configurable" subscription or am I missing something?

Product attributes with price modifiers are automatically considered as part of the setup fee and not as part of the subscription fee. Is this correct?

What if I want to sell a subscription for 1 month at $10 and 3 months at $25 and 6 months at $40 ? Or with any kind of attribute combination that would modify the subscription price?
