Hi guys,

Today responsiveness in web application design is not just a trend but rather an urgent need. CloudSearch will not going to fall behind and we have created an accordion-style layout for the mobile widget. CloudSearch will seamlessly switch to it when the screen width is not wide enough to display the standard widget.

Here is how it looks like on an iPhone:

You can navigate to http://demo.x-cart.com/demo, switch the store's skin to Ideal Responsive and try it for yourself!

Your feedback is greatly appreciated!

P.S. There was a small bugfix release of CloudSearch module - 1.3.2. If you ever wanted to translate the "Did you mean" label on the search widget, with no luck, then you need to upgrade to that version in order to make it work.

AMAZING

Nikita, this is a FANTASTIC upgrade!!!! And since it's in the cloud, no code changes on our side!

My only comment: if the customer wants to "click out" of cloudsearch results once they get the list on mobile, how do they make the results "go away" ? Any brilliant interface idea how to make cloudsearch results go away if the customer does not click on a result link?

THANKS for continuing raising the bar. My subscription just renewed a few days ago and I feel that with your continued development, this is a great SaaS and a good value. Thanks again.
Jeremy

I guess that the customer needs to tap outside the search widget in that case. Do you think this is not convenient?

Will this work on the mobile version in the search, We have the mobile app and would love this cloud search for our users.

Or will this only work without the mobile site?

Hi,

The abovementioned update doesn't work on X-Cart Mobile yet. But since we already have the mobile widget you can expect the X-Cart Mobile-compatible CloudSearch in the next release. Please, stay tuned.

Red face Re: CloudSearch service for X-Cart has been released

Hmm I had CloudSearch stop working on a site due to a failed subscription renewal (credit card had expired) Whilst the failure to update my CC is my error, why is the billing attempted on the DATE the subscription ends?

Traditionally a subscription service will bill you at least a week (if not more) before a subscription expires to ensure issues like this can be avoided.

Now I'm unsure how long it will take to re-activate but in future shouldn't payment be attempted earlier and simply added onto the end of the subscription?

Thanks

This is a concern.
And no grace period or attempt to contact the admin before turing the service off?

CloudSearch (and all SaaS) must notify the admin if the billing credit card is expired -- better yet, notify the admin a week before renewal, advise admin to verify/change billing, etc...

This is how other SaaS do it. In fact, some are obnoxious about this -- and try to cross-sell into other services. But a simple, "Your CloudSearch service will renew at 12:00am GMT on March 15, 2014. Please verify your payment method as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted service."

or something like that...
I expect this from an SaaS.

Thanks for bringing this up.

No unfortunately not. What stings a little more is I purchased the module only 10 days into my free 30 day trial - I should have waited the full 30 days before purchasing.

Thank you for reporting this and also for the possible solutions you have suggested. We're already working on this and I will get back when we will sort this out.

We've introduced a 10-day grace period for all paid subscriptions. I guess that it should be enough for everybody to solve billing problems while the service will continue working uninterruptedly. Also there will be notifications before billing attempt.
