Question [4.2 SEO Enabled] How make the script to show the entire path?

I am using 4.2 X-Cart Gold which has a SEO built in.

After activating the SEO feature and editing .htaccess like in their instructions, the script is working fine. In product page you have to give a Clean URL name for your product page. Then the script adds .html extension to this name.

I would like to make a useful change of the script. By default it shows only /xcart/[product_cleanurl}.html. I want to include the category, subcategory in the path like this /xcart/category_name/subcategory/[product_cleanurl].html.

Any idea how can I do this?

Ideas for Server configuration (basicaly): Nginx/Pound (reverse proxy), Apache/Nginx (webserver), Squid/Varnish (cache server), HHVM or (PHP-FPM + PHP 5.6 + opcache), MariaDB/Percona MySQL Server, Redis (storing sessions)

You can enter the entire path in the clean url field. By default it only shows the product name. It also uses mixed case, I recommend using all lower case.

You can see the full clean url on my site (still under development, but it you make a purchase, you've bought it!) http://PlayfulBear.com

dtherio: your point of view is not a solution. what happen if I rename the category or the subcategory name? I should go to every product and change manually the clean url.

can I use smarty in clean url?

Don't complain to me, if you change the category name then you will need to update the "clean URL". Usually people at least say thank you when someone offers a solution to your issue.

If you know how to use phpmyAdmin then you could change the category or subcategory very easily. But since I apparently wasted my time offering a suggestion... I won't bother replying to your posts in the future.

It is the true man. I was looking for a solution, you gave me one. With arguments I told you this is not a good solution.

I am an advanced user. I really don't understand why are you so upset.

If you are such an advanced user then you should know how to use myphpAdmin. I wish you luck in finding a solution that meets your specific needs.

I gave you a solution (based on how the software is designed to work), you didn't like it. That is your option. However you may want to not be quite so rude when someone tries to help you. You may find that people just stop responding to your posts. Like I will now do.
