Default speed bar/target blank

Is there a way of making one of my speedbar buttons open in a new window when it's pushed? My goal is to have a button for my ebay store open a new window and keep my xcart store window open. Is the speed bar the best way of doing this or would there be a better way?

Hi,

I believe, as you only want to do this to one link, not them all, you need to do this from Admin, Speed Bar Management.

For the link you need to open in a new window, in the Url section add the following...

" target=_blank

so for example if you wanted Home to open in a new window,
home.php
would become
home.php" target=_blank

Hope that helps, let me know if not.

OK, well I did try it on my speed bar links and it was fine, but perhaps the link you are using is different.

If you copy and paste the original link and also the result when you used the new code, I could perhaps try and work out what the difference is.

Paul,
It works now. I'll tell you what I was doing wrong.
I changed the speed bar in admin which alters home.php. When I went to my url www.4clicksgps.com, it takes me to my catalog/index.html file which wasn't changed because I haven't regenerated the catalog with the changes, it seemed like it didn't work. Anyways, its working and I appreciate your help.

This is also a great way to link in a blog on a retail website. I was trying to figure it out but was screwing up the quotes. Thanks for the tip.

The solution given here works on the smart menu but not the speed bar.
