Hello Group

Is there a tutorial for adding a new section above the catagories section. I would like to add a new box up there for the search.tpl

It would be nice to have some tutorials on modifications. You would think x-cart would be happy to share their knowledge.

Any and all help will be geatly appreciated.

You would do it by creating a new tpl file for the search then you go to customer/home.tpl and add that file before the categories.tpl file. Really easy to do.

I think the hard part is getting what the layout scheme of the x-cart is. There is more than one home.tpl Which one do I modify. I think part of the trick is to know the layout. Gradually I am getting the hang of it.

YOu should only need to edit the one in skin1/customer to get it to show up above the catagories listing. Thats where I moved it to for my personal store.

also, the home.tpl files work like this ..

customer/home.tpl - main customer pages
single/home.tpl - main admin pages
fullfilment/home.tpl - fullfilment staff pages
