Default How to move folder. X-Cart 5.3.2.3

i am getting ready to launch my site. BUT, it is in a sub folder (from the first install).

Right now it is in www.mydomain.com/xcart/ and need it to be in www.mydomain.com. Can i just move the contents of the folder or is there more to it than that?

running: X-Cart Business 5.3.2.3
on a nginx, Linux, plesk control panel

Thank you for the link.

so,…. if i understand this-

to move folder to folder
“http://<HOST>/xcart/“ to “http://<HOST>/xcart5/“
i need to run this:
cd ~/www/;
mv xcart xcart5;

In my case i need to move to this
“http://<HOST>/xcart/“ to “http://<HOST>“
Do i run this command?
cd ~/www/;
mv xcart ;

The way I move X-Cart is to zip the folder's contents and then extract it in the new destination. This way I am taking a backup at the same time, juts adds some peace of mind. I always take a copy of the client's site and install it on my local machine, just so we know we have a fully functional copy of the database and files.

totaltec,

So simple, yet, so genius.
Thank you so much for the reply and sharing how you move and check XCart

Going to give it a go hopefully before the end of the week
(if i can get other issues worked out. i.e. XC fedex module).
