I am not the kind who makes reviews, even because I know little or maybe nothing about x-cart, despite this is the soft that I use to support my store.
But I cannot let got without saying that this module met all expectations of an annoying and requiring person (me, in this case LOL).
The several modes of display, the several file formats that it supports, the display time that you can also choose, and an infinity of other options, including the easiness of adding a banner and a campaign, in addition that you have in modules the option of enabling it or not (there many modules for sale out there that do not provide this option, that is important in my opinion, after all is an administrator's choice to run the module or not) I recommend it, if you are looking for an excellent banner module. And you can realize that, as I have written above, the one who writes this is an annoying and extremelly demanding person.
I am very happy and satisfied to have bought this module.

I just purchased this mod and I'm very happy with it. I would highly recommend it, especially since I have also used another 3rd party banner mod so I have been able to compare the two. In my opinion this one is far better not only for ease of use but the options available to manage the banners. The support has also been prompt and helpful - thanks William!

Hi Will,

Just a question regarding the demo to have a play with, if I want to put it on a test server with a temp IP will that suffice in lieu of a domain name?

Thanks

Hi BBM,

Yes, you can supply an IP address when downloading our trial xBanner module.
Be sure to use the value you currently have assigned in your x-cart config.php under
$xcart_http_host
The value you supply for "Store Domain Name" here:
http://www.thexcartstore.com/xbanners-banner-module-for-xcart.html
must be the same as "$xcart_http_host"

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi Will,

I have been playing with this module on a site and I am looking to maximise the performance of this site. I have managed to get down to 1.73 seconds loading without the banner module, and with it jumps to around 2.20 seconds when enabled (as well as adding around 40KB to the page).

I'm no JS expert by any means but I do notice that the code has 2 versions of the JS library in them, would it be better (and possible) to load these separately (like how the standard x-cart pulls it from Google?) to increase performance?

Hi Will,

Looking at your Xbanner product. We currently use the Magnetic one banner, but our host is stopping the use of php.ini files to call things like ioncube that that module uses. Can you confirm if your Xbanner needs to use any other extensions/php.ini file? Thanks

Hi Zebu,

Our xBanners module also includes a small amount of encrypted php code (to help protect our licensing system). As a result, you will need to have Ioncube running on your server , unfortunately - there is no other way around this at the moment.

It's strange to see a hosting company do this - as Ioncube is usually always installed as part of the overall server setup. Are you on a shared hosting package?

I see all the banners are shifted to the left when placed. Is there a way to center the banners in the area where they are place?
