Thanks Moondog - Works just great now

I have 2 requests if anybody could be kind enough to please help me with

The first one id actually like to use this mod to offer "half price" so if someone spends say $15 or over they can purchase another item half price,
this wasn't a problem to create but the only snag i came across if you enter a price for the item the quantity box appears instead of showing the qauntity as 1, is there anyway to stop the qauntity box from showing up if you add a price to your item.

The other small problem i came across is that if when they add the item to the cart, then either hit the back browser button or clicked on the picture in the cart they could actually add the same item again, ok this wouldn't be to much of a problem if you sore this on the invoice.
But it would be nice that if they tried to do this and add the same product twice, they recieve a message something like this - "This promotional item has already been added" or something along these lines.

Would be really greatful if someone new how to code this.

I don't think this mod will work for v4.0 of x-cart. There is another post by MonkeyClan for earlier versions of x-cart. Just click here for implementing the earlier version of this FREE GIFT module.

I think v4.1.7 is pretty similar to v4.1.8 so I think this mod might work for you. But don't take my word for it, because I'm not really too familiar with that version. In any case, make sure you make backups before implementing this mod.

What a great job MoonDog! Thanks! It was very easy to follow and the admin side is working perfectly on my 4.1.9 cart. The customer side I suspect would be fine too except I've got EzCheckout and EzUpsell installed too and I think some changes are needed. As of right now, I have nothing on the customer side, but no errors either.

Has anyone installed this mod with the EZ mods? I'll start playing around w/ the code later, but I'm sure many out there are more versed than I, so if someone has already done this, would you like to share the changes?

Or am I on the wrong path? I'm just guessing that its related to the different mods. Any hints are much appreciated!

Edit: I tried turning off the ez checkout and the free gifts still do not show up.
