Default X-Cart Next 1.2.2 is released

Hi guys!

X-Cart Next 1.2.2 was released a week and a half ago. I could not post earlier, since fell ill and did not work. Sorry about that!

Anyway, it was a release where we tried to fix all the bugs reported from users right after X-Cart Next launch.

Full changelog is here:
https://x-cart.atlassian.net/wiki/display/XDD/Version+1.2.2

Besides that, we published our Roadmap here:
http://next.x-cart.com/roadmap.html

Now we are working on the following things:
  • improvements of partner area in my.x-cart.com
  • all nearest goals from roadmap
  • reworking product options
  • cloning products
  • adding shopkey
  • integration with Fedex
  • upgrade script LC3 > XCN

If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post them here or pm me.

Cheers!

You should post dates on the roadmap page - if I open this page now I think the first part should be done by end of June but if I open it in May I will think it will be done by the end of July.... there is no starting date to count the 2 months from, same applies to year....

Hi Steve!

You are right. If you open this Roadmap in April, you will think that the first part will be done by June and that's correct. If you open it in May, you will expect nearest goals to be done by July and it will be also correct, since nearest goals will be changed: some modules will be released and gone from Roadmap, and some will be moved from Longterm plans to Nearest goals.

I mean, this is constantly adjusting Roadmap, so at each moment it represents actual info.

Iused April - May just to have some longer period to make my point but someone opening in begining of April and another customer at the end of April will think about different time frame althoug they will be seeing same page content - some of the tasks you have/will have listed will take more than a month if not more to complete so there will be no change for long period of time on the roadmap entries.... I know what you are saying but I think it will be more clear to post it as - by the end of Month - instead as - in the next 2 months....

I will be happy to plan so precisely (in one month frame), but at this time we can only plan for two months, not less.

Anyway, we will check how it goes over next couple of months and if we feel that some adjustments are needed to roadmap structure, we will definitely add them.

Product Comparison is mentioned two times on Roadmap page.

IMHO a filtering module for XCN should be available after releasing features like this: Extra Fields, Product Variants, Product Comparison.

@ADDISON

Thanks for spotting it out. I removed the second mention of Product Comparison.

X-Cart Next has the unique functionality which we call "Product Attributes". It allows to define classes and extra fields for all or certain products. So, Extra Fields already exist, Product Comparison will be based on these attributes.

The main point is Product Variant. This is very important functionality and it is one of our main task in our schedule.

Maxim not sure at what stage you are on this. As we all know in XC4 variants are pretty heave on the cart and resources and kinda complicated to work with, also do options/variants are not dependant so with 2 options if one depends on the other they still show both... also out of stock option/variant is showing with a message instead of being hidden.... The biggest concern for me is the speed though and how the variants pool is build. Is this going to change in XCN? It would be nice to not have to worry much about having too many variants....

Steve, I do not like the variant engine in XC4. XCN-team has modeled and discussed a lot of variants until we selected the best one.

The most priorities are the following:
- simple of using and managing
- speed
- clear structure

If you are interested in, please, write a PM to Tony and he will share our ideas of variants-engine.
