I am using the Natural Cosmetics template on X-Cart 5.3.2.8. In the online demo for the template, there are a number of menu columns in the footer, and then there are three links in a row directly above the copyright/powered by statement (T&C, Shipping, Sitemap). This is not exclusive to Natural Cosmetics. Many other templates have the same setup.

I know how to create the menu columns, in Content > Menus > Footer Menu. But how do you setup the row of links? Do I need to modify a template file, or can it be done through the admin area?

I know how to work with the template files, but it seems like this should be done in the admin area, especially since it is in the demo. You would think if it's in the demo, you shouldn't have to modify anything.

SimpleCMS module hacks into this place and replaces the way in which footer menus are displayed on pages.
Before SimpleCMS the menus were hardcoded into theme templates.

I bought that template partly because of that footer configuration. Do I need to manually add that row of links into the powered_by.twig file? Natural Cosmetics and Outdoor Furniture are both labelled New on your site. Both of them have the two types of footer menus, columns and the line of links over the copyright. There are other templates that have them as well. Is there no way to add those links without hacking the templates? I just want my footer to look like the demo.

Should I ask TemplateMonster about this? I can hack the template, but I was hoping it was easier, since I will be handing the site off to a client when I'm done building it.

You can also create a simple custom module that does the thing.
But without a custom code/tweaks there is no way to add the menu anymore, unfortunately.

This is not something that they can handle on their end.
It was X-Cart 5 that displayed that menu, and now Simple CMS module takes over the logic and changes the way which the footer is displayed.
Actually, before Simple CMS there was no UI to edit that menu too; you had to create a custom module injecting the links.
