I do not know how to upgrade successfully, Kathy will you give me a detailed description on how to upgrade, or is it in some faq somewhere.

I'm sorry, I can't instruct you how to upgrade. There are FAQ here on the forums to help answer those questions. In my case, I hire one of the pros here to do it for me.

I tweak things here and there while he does big stuff for hire.

Never tried it before, but the basics say you upload the new files to the server and run patch from admin area.
