Default Changing text color on the main front page

Hi guys,

I just purchased the software yesterday (downloaded the newest version) and have been on the forum reading quite a bit over the last 24hrs. I am trying to change the text color on the front page.

Please take a look at my test webstore here. https://www.litewarehouse.com/cart/home.php After playing around with the skin1.css file, I was able to chagne the text color in the midle column into black. However, I couldn't figure out how to change the text color the the left & right column.

I would greatly appreciate it if one of you can point me to the right direction. Let me know where are the variables I need to change for the text color of these two left & right columns.

Additionally, I would like to change the "Powered by X-Cart: shopping cart software" text at the bottem of the page also.

Thank you
-Tuan

Welcome to the Wild World of X-Cart!
Now I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but here goes!

In skin.css look for VertMenuTitle, VertMenuItems, etc.
Changing those should take care of you.

The PoweredBy X-Cart is found by going to....
"Edit Templates" (over in the right nav bar)
then look for "poweredby.tpl", edit away.

Hope that helps!
Rod

Actually the "powered by" info in 4.08 and 4.09 are in the prnotice.tpl- at least in my copies. The poweredby template is empty.

Yep your right!
main/prnotice.tpl

Was thinking of the old version. Sorry!

If you want to get rid of it completely, edit skin1/bottom.tpl
and remove the line
Code:
<TD class="Bottom">{include file="main/prnotice.tpl"}</TD>

At least it worked for me.

Thanks guys, I truly appreciate all of your responsive replies. That's so great, I will give it a try

Over the past 2 years or so, I have been running my store on OSCommerce. And finally decided to at least give X-Cart a try and see if my store would benefit from the conversion. $189 is certainly worth the effort.

One thing I notice off the back between the test store running X-cart ( http://www.litewarehouse.com/cart ) versus my production store running OSCommerce ( http://www.litewarehouse.com/catalog ) is that the my X-Cart sample store is significantly slower. All the pages just aren't as responsive as my OSCommerce pages. And this is even before I import all my products into X-Cart database.

Both of my X-Cart & OSCommerce stores are running on the same exact dedicated server, P-2.4GHz with 1GB of memory, and it has Zend Optimizer v2.5.7 installed. Please take a look at the two store links above and you will see what I am referring to. On the X-Cart store, it seems like when you click on an item and/or page, it sits and wait for a couple seconds then BOOM, all the items get displayed. Where as on my OSCommerce store, when you click on an item/page, it will get displayed almost instantly.

While a couple seconds might not seem much right now, but I think the issue will become much worse when several hundred more products are added with more traffic and inquiries made to the database. Is there anything I can do on the X-Cart side to speed thing up.

Any help/ideas you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated. Once again, thank yo so much for all of your help on this. I hope to have all of these issues taken care of soon so I can start to plan my OSCom to X-cart conversion.

Thank you
-Tuan
