Our experience with Mercury Minds One Page Checkout was less than favorable. We purchased the module and install. First thing we noticed was the module had a number of bugs. The explanation was that it was still in testing mode, which was somewhat acceptable at this point, since the module was not live. We started making a list of what needed to be fixed. The day after the install, still without the actual module enabled we noticed a drastic reduction in sales. Looking into what the cause could be we found that files that had been modified by Mercury Minds were blocking new customers from creating accounts, as well as previous customers, and admin▓s from modifying existing accounts. This left us feeling like Mercury Minds is selling an un tested product, and further, using our live store as a test ground. We have purchased and installed many mods before and have never had trouble with bugs and problems of this scale, not to mention loss in sales. After removing and reverting all Mercury Minds modified files our site was back to its normal sales.

I tried the 4.4.x demo as you wrote and sadly found 2 bugs in 1 minute...

I ordered 1 product from the demo store and went to checkout. I entered my billing information(used zip code of 12345 and chose media mail shipping for $2.77) and purposely didn't check the acceptance box. I submit the order and get the message reminding me to check the acceptance box. At that time it erases my zip/postal code but everything else remains as written. So, I must re-enter my zip code and try checking out again. I re-enter 12345 as zip code and my shipping method automatically got changed to 'national 3' and is now $6.00. If the customer didn't notice the shipping method automatically changed they will not be happy...

I'd call it a pretty important bug.

The box that includes the text ---Make sure you enter a valid email address because the store will send you notifications to this address--- never disappears after you initially enter your email address (I used IE8 ).

Also, for your reference, every OPC demo link on the demo page(the ones labeled 'visit homepage' that should lead to the demo stores) of your website here:

If I buy the module from you does it come with those bugs listed above?
I'll politely ask again... are there any other bugs?

Anyone actually got a bug free version? I'd like to use this but obviously if it has several bugs then I'll not consider it can anyone confirm it working as it should do?

I have had this mod since Christmas, and I stuggled with the installation, Mercury Minds quickly fixed that, and have helped me make futher customisations. Any bugs they have quickly fixed, and lointed me in the right direction if it was not something to do with their Mod.

I tried to recreat this problem, so hopfully I dont have this bug it looks like.

I am sure though that Mercuryminds would do there best to fix.

I understand that its not a good idea to release things untill they work properly, but then is not xcart more than usually full of bugs when new versions are released.

I have emailed twice and have yet to get a response on this module. Used the form on your site the first time, the second time sent a regular email to support and sales.

I am interested in it but needed to find out if there is a developer's license or discount for 3 or 4 purchases, as well as to find out how the module works when the payment information is collected on the merchant gateway's page. Would appreciate a response of some kind, as I am becoming leary, wondering if I purchase the modules and have a problem I wont get any help.

Hi,

The module becomes stable now. Most of the bugs are sorted out. The reason we stopped responding here is "people reports the issues here, sometimes we fail to notice it rather than reporting our support team". The thread is still active, we are improving our module continuously. Thank you so much for your support.

Hello Dongan,

This issue has been reported to your team as of 3/23/11 and I have yet to receive a response.

Essentially, since installing the One Page Checkout mod, tax is not being applied to any orders. Currently sales tax should be applied to orders when a specific State is selected, but no orders get charged sales tax.

Please advise.
