Bob,

Your site looks great and that product page is very similar to what I'm trying to accomplish. Any pointers for getting those tabs set up like you did?

Did I mention it looks great?

**edit: The only thing... your add to cart button is below the fold....that is definitely something I think you want to avoid**

**Update: I paid to have it done**

Unhappy Re: Menu with Tabs for Product page

Hi,

I bought the X-Cart Ultimate Tabbed Product Menu v4.x from xcartmods.co.uk.
It works find in IE7 but doesn't work in Firefox. I seems that something blocks the script.

Any idea ?

I did it. Here is the answer :

Hi, there shouldn't be any issues with Firefox, as you can see by viewing my site in FF.

There must be a conflict somewhere, as it looks like you have many mods.

Firstly, try enabling the persistence feature in tabs.js

var enabletabpersistence=1 //remember last visited tab? 1=yes, 0=no

If you forward temporary FTP access, I don't mind taking a look for you.

I have forwarded ftp access. Since Wednesday, no more answers.

My new site being build and the skin had the product tabs in it already. Looks really good, much cleaner.... BUT as far as SEO goes, im not sure its the best course.

But, ive heard from a few that a A/B test confirms that having tabs converts to more sales. With this being mentioned, I was wondering what you all think and if you have any personal experience confirming or denying they make a difference or not at the end of the day.

Also, has anyone initiated the tabs based on this thread with the newest Xcart version?

Thanks

I think for products with a large amount of detail and technical information that is not important for Search, tabs are a great way of keeping your product pages nice and clean.

In saying that, I would ensure that all information that is important from a Search point of view is visible on page load to be sure and safe.

Default Re: Menu with Tabs for Product page

Hi guys, I have implemented this and took a lot of effort trying to make it fit the site design, there was mention in an earlier post about the tabber box no going all around the tabs, I had this problem and it is due to using the rounded corners mod, I removed this for the product centre part and all is fine, if anyone wants to take a look visit http://www.4furryfeet.com, it looks great, please remember this is a live site.

The only thing I could do with some help on is I have Price Match from Phil and this is on tab 3, I can get my button to go straight to the tab etc, but Phil's mod updates the price match module with a result, e.g. "Thanks we'll get back to you" after a successful submission, but I am trying to make sure that the tabber goes back to this tab after the page reloads so that the customer can see this message, any ideas.

I have tried putting <a "javascript:tabShow(3)"</a> but I am not sure this is formatted right or where to put it. in PriceMatch_tpl the following creates the submit button and the result.

<td>{include file="buttons/submit.tpl" type="input" style="button" href="javascript: return VF_pricematch();"}</td>
</tr>
</table>
</form>
{/if}
{if $smarty.get.sendpmok eq "1"}
<div style="color:#009900;font-weight:bold;padding:10px;">{$lng.lbl_Price_Match_T hanks}</div>
{elseif $smarty.get.sendpmok eq "2"}
<div style="color:#FF0000;font-weight:bold;padding:10px;">{$lng.lbl_Price_Match_E rror}</div>
{/if}

I have tried all combos I can think of to get this to kick in after the relaod, but to no avail, any help greatly appreciated.
