My idea of the other thread was as a place holder for those who wanted to be PMed. Therefore it would be reasonably clear, by the fact that it holds nothing other than usernames/similar that the real stuff is elsewhere...

But I take your point. It probably is too complicated a method. I was just thinking about cutting back the thread to a more economical and readable size.

Its clear people are interested in the mod, and I guess Boomer [or other] is working on it or will do ... Maybe by individuals deleting their basic "are we there yet" posts it would achieve the same results.

What do you say commrades?

Say YES by acting on it - not replying with a post and I promise not to become obsessive about this.

volume.

Currently for one of my clients, we've created a "login" button next to the customer listing in the admin "search users" area. And the sales rep can login as the user and complete the order from the customer side, as the customer. It doesn't have the bells and whistles but it's easy to do.

The client may be interested in a mod as mentioned here however, so I may be available to create or help create such a mod if Boomer is interested/unavailable.

This is something we would pay heavily for if it is made available.

I've just read this thread and it sounds really interesting. It's a great idea. The only possible problem I can see is whether this will be classed as fraud. i.e. pretending to be customer when entering details over the web when the payment processor thinks that it is the customer entering the details. I currently use world pay as a payment processer and I wanted to do a similar thing. In UK (not sure about the rest of the world) there are laws about 'cardholder not present' so I contacted them about it. They informed me that I couldn't use my standard payment processing page as that is designed for the end customer to fill in. They told me that if I filled this section in, the liability for any fraud would be with myself as the card holder wasn't present. They however gave me another option to process the payment via the world wide web, where I could input the details my self securely totally separate to x-cart.

I would just suggest that you check up on this, I may be wrong but would hate for someone to get stung.

Paul

^ Wonder how that would work if you input the order as a "Phone Order" on the site and used the web POS terminal of the merchant to process the credit card info.

Thats pretty much what we are doing at the moment with the protx virtual terminal, we just created a paper form so we can easily just fill it in quickly when a customer phones (big increase in people wanting to do that lately) then use that info to create an account in x-cart, login as them make the order using "phone order" then input the payment details into the virtual terminal, it's a bit long winded and I wouldnt want to do it if we had hundreds of orders per day but at the moment it does the job.
Just thinking about getting a pay by fax mod where if they use that as a payment method they get to print out a pre filled in form with their order and details that they can print out and fax to us along with their payment details.

Boomer,

Are you going to do this? As I have someone whom I've been talking to about doing this for for a while now, and just came across this thread. If you're working on the system let me know as I don't want to duplicate work.
