I cant edit the templates. I never had this problem with 4.1 Tried everything even attribs at 777, still cannot save the templates.

Are you sure 777 is the correct setting for your server setup?
Have you tried 755?

Yea, this isn't an X-Cart issue it sounds like a server issue with permissions/file ownership - saying the release sucks because of it is hardly fair.

it has to be an xcart issue, cuz its same server and dirs as where i installed 4.11 before.

It does the same thing on mine. I didn't notice it because I never edit templates from within xcart.

Do you guys think its worth to change my 4.11 design (which i worked on for 6 months) to the 4.2 realease??
the 4.11 i wanted to bring online at 1st januari 2009....

Same here on a fresh installation dev site with all file permissions are correct.

Weckie, FTP is commonly used to modify .tpl files.

you mean over ur FTP connection using the ftp software?? It works that way, i know. But i use always from inside xcart.

Like WS_ftp?
