X-Cart 4.0.14 released

Will you be issuing a combined upgrade to take us from 4.0.8 (the last combined upgrade) to a later version?

I'm reading the upgrade file called UPGRADE.NOTES_4.0.13-4.0.14 and aren't sure of a couple of items..

first, what's a hot fix?

I've made lots of small changes in the cart, some with the help of the xcart folks and some on my own. Are those "hot fixes"?

Will I have to redo all those little changes? Some are in the fancy cats module.

I see that some of you have had no trouble with the update..which gives me hope....

The UPGRADE file also mentions "PLease read UPGRADE.readme manual first to get basicd information about upgrading x_cart" and I don't see that file in what I just downloaded...the upgrade.tgz file.

Naturally, I'd hate to lose stuff that I've done...but the cart isn't open yet so I'm thinking NOW is the time to update...

UPDATE.... I found the UPGRADE.readme file...in front of my nose, once I looked in the xcart folder on the server...

I had a number of mods in my include/login.php and include/funtion.php. Had to manually re-do the mods into the new 4.0.14 version of those files to get it to work right, but now it does. I've had many mods along the way but this was the first upgrade where I had to actually redo them on the new files and re-upload it.

Does this version include extra fields availablity throughout the cart or do we still have to wait for 4.1 for this? Its one of the most useful features in 3.X for custom displaying of information.

I just wanted to mention - if you have a lot of mods, this latest upgrade is one where you really need to upgrade ALL of the files. In the past, I let my cart.php slide as it always worked fine with the upgrades. Not this time. Yeah, that pretty much means re-doing all the mods. That's the way it goes I guess....

Ok, so I upgraded our site last night to 4.0.14 from 4.0.13, and now add to wishlist doesn't work for products that don't have variants. If the products have variants, you can add just fine to a wishlist.

I'm still trying to track down the problem in the upgrade patch, but has anyone else encountered this?

I had two files that could not be patched so I need to upgrade those manually (skin1/skin1_admin.css & skin1/customer/home.tpl). How do I accomplish this? I don't see a skin1/home.tpl in the patch package, only skin1_original/customer/home.tpl.

I went through the upgrade process and now I get

Can't find template engine!

says that on every page... grrrr
