We ship wine to different states. Currently we are using the "Product Shipping Restrictions" module to restrict certain wines from going to certain locations. How can we use the Refine Filters module to "filter" the category / search pages based on which wines go where?

Ideal use case: Customer selects state from a filter, all the wines that can go to that state display.

Thanks,

Thanks,

Howard,

The Refine Filters are perfect for this. In admin you would set up a filter called State and create all of the State options you need. Then you visit each product and assign the filters.

You can demo the filters to some degree here: http://www.x-cart.com/extensions/modules/refine-filters.html. In the admin side of the demo, you can find most of the settings for the filters under the Catalog tab - Refine Filters or the Settings tab under modules and then select Refine Filters out of the module list.

I have used them for an e-commerce store before and they work great. No longer own it, but they are still in use on the site. If you want to see a real world example of the filters in use you can PM me for more info.

And as I said, you may always pay for a customuzation to have it faster. Do not hesitate to contact us.

Is this functional now?

Hello,

I have a problem with this module.
We run it on Xcart 4.4.
We cannot open or close the filters on the frontpage.
They will open for a very short time and close automatic in less then a second.

Anyone familiar with this problem?

Kind regards
Cees

Hello,

We have x cart with refine filters on version 4.4.5. We have not been able to use it since we purchased it over two years ago. It slows down our server so much we have to turn it off or in a matter of 15 minutes or so we have to reboot the server> Really need this mod to be running. Looking for any advise on how to trace why it is happening.

Running on EWD Intel® Xeon E3-1240 Dedicated Server

Hello,

We have investigated your site and found out that it contains a lot of modifications and 3rd party modules installed. There some incompatibilities may take place.

Also your site has jQuery the version 1.7.2, which is uncommon for X-Cart v.4.4.x.

We would recommend you to try Refine Filters for X-Cart 4.5.x or 4.6.x. You can take the newest versions of module in the Helpdesk file area.

And sure, we will help you to adapt the module to your version of store if you would like. Just let us know and project manager will contact you to estimate the works.

Is there a way to enable Refine Filters on the "Home Page" but not to show all of the products if nothing is filtered?

I would have thought you cold do this with an IF statement in the rf_home_products.tpl template.

Yes, sure. You can add statement {if $rf_products_filtered eq 'Y'} [code to show products here] {/if} in that template. Just use the templates editor in the admin-side (don't forget to make a backup before editing).
