I am wondering if I should move this to Rants and Raves!

This is an announcment on the release of a bug fix to Litecommerce, and as such is in the correct forum . The lack of information on version 5, discussions around the release date (slipping or not), do not really belong here, and are drifting off topic.

I agree with you Swish and hope you find a cart that suits your needs. I have and once I go live with it and stop using Litecommerce I will stop posting here.

Q: Why did we release 2.2 build 41 ? Why did we spent the development resources on it instead of bringing X-Cart v5 faster?
A: Well, we did not spend any resources on that. Our tech support engineers just accumulated some patches that commonly get applied to LiteCommerce so that it makes life easier for people who want to start LiteCommerce based online store.
The engineers volunteered to do that minor release and we allowed them to do it. They did the build in their free time and I have no objections whatsoever to them doing it.

Q: Should I upgrade to 2.2 build 41?
A: If there is a problem that bothers you with your current store that is fixed in build 41 - then yes. Otherwise - no.

Q: Should I upgrade my store to X-Cart now?
A: No, unless you absolutely have to. Upgrades are costly.

Q: What platform should I use for new stores ? X-Cart ? LiteCommerce ? Ecwid ?
A:
Use Ecwid if you don't need customization and if it's functionality is enough for you.
Use LiteCommerce if you know LiteCommerce well.
Use X-Cart if you know X-Cart well.
