I think i understand your "usecase".
The process of splitting is implemented on core function func_get_packages(). I will discuss this issue with our x-cart architects.

it's not really splitting, it's more a case of combined size.

I don't think xcart stores product size though to calculate this,

Id second the fact that sending everything based as a packet is the best way forward for now. Anything else is an envelope however the size restrictions are VERY strict.

If you jiffy bag something and it doesnt slide through the envelop gauge without any problems what so ever they charge you more. Its easy for a 125gram package to cost either 1.25 or 2.24 in the bat of an eye lid.

What about supporting royal mail or special delivery?

Also one problem I used to have was that selling items that were worth 100ukp (computer memory) people would choose the cheapest option which only covered insurance up to 30ukp.

Would be nice to say only make the option available for items worth up to X and weight below Y to show those options. Anyone whos ever lost with royal mail on the business end will know exactly what Im getting at.

Just had a re look at this. is there any news or updates on this mod. In the back end I couldnt see how you cut down on some of the royal mail options.

Also is this using the packet post rates or envelope rates?

Doing the test shipping rate I can see you are using PACKET POST which is great news but is there a way to say just have the recorded delivery options? If so this would solve a HUGE amount of postage hard work.

Is there anyone using this module. I've got it setup with my x-cart but it is only providing airsure and airmail options for international countries.

I can't get it to provide me with International Signed for options.

Also Royal Mail are telling me they don't know what Web Tools User ID is.. they haven't heard of it.

Can anyone help?

I posted some questions on this AGES ago and no reply from qualiteam or anything.

It needs a little more work like features to add markup onto shipping costs, letting people use select services etc. Get the feeling this was coded and then long since abandoned which is a real shame seeing as MOST uk stores use Royal mail.

How far did you get with this? It seems that the royal mail international signed for is never picked up at all.

I'm considering just putting in the price tariff manually as the real time price tariff isn't that useful if the prices are fixed.

Any advice would be appreciated..

No further forward on this at all since the post from kuzma. This really would save time and systems processes for us no end. Having a one stop postage system for the bulk of royal mail items.

Although small, I bet the uk marketshare must be big enough to warrant some time being spent on this.

At the moment I have a spreadsheet that fills in postage costs for me on some products and then use Feed Manager to calculate other products. I tend to do deals on the Google base feed this was as well.
