New X-Cart product line and new X-Cart v4.5.3 released

Sorry for the delay, folks

Gold to GoldPlus conversion pack has been released and available for downloading if you purchased Gold -> GoldPlus license exchange.

The file is located in X-Cart 4.5.3 -> Gold to GoldPlus conversion pack folder.

It's like a mega-module and should be installed as an add-on. So, you should unpack it into X-Cart home directory on the server and launch the conversion pack installation script.

Important note:
X-Cart Gold to X-Cart GoldPlus upgrade procedure implies the following scenario:

1. Upgrade your X-Cart Gold to the latest version (4.5.3 in our case) using a standard upgrade pack
2. Apply 4.5.3 Gold -> 4.5.3 GoldPlus conversion pack

PLS HELP !!!!!!

My live store is Pro 4.5.1 and I close the store because exchange to GOLD PLUS.

PROBLEM INSTALL GOLD PLUS.
1. stop my live store and move all root dir files to local computer as backup.
2. upload all gold+ files to root and run web installed, I got this error

"X-Cart software cannot connect to the MySQL database because your MySQL account information is missing from X-Cart's configuration file config.php.
...............
If the installation process has been completed, but you are getting this message, the problem is likely caused by incorrect information in your config.php file. Check the file config.php and make sure the SQL database details settings in it are correct.
Run the installation script "

when I click the "run the installtion script", just nothing happen.....

what should I do ?

You need to edit the new config file and enter the data base name, user name, password, and blowfish_key from the old config file that you have back up

Put you original store back online and use it until the new store is ready.

Second the new gold plus store will have to be a new install, new database and all custom mod reinstalled.

After you have the Gold plus store working, you will have to move old store from root and place new store in the root. Then modify the config file to point to the root directory.

Ok, since my live store on the Root dir, can I install the Gold+ in /xcart directory and build as new store, once completed move and replace the root dir files ?

Yes that is how you would do it, hopefully they will come out with an upgrade script to make the xcart pro store work with gold plus

Not entirely true!
If the pro store was functioning in single mode, "downgrading" pro to gold databse is as simple as installing a NEW gold store, and then pointing the database/blowfish.

You can even salvage/copy over many (just about all) skim templates (with minor exceptions) from the SAME VERSION fo pro to gold.

But if you are in 4.4.x pro and you want to go to 4.5.x goldplus, it's a job.
You CAN preserve your database, but it's not a quick one afternoon project. It requires multiple steps, backing up and restoring as you go.

I would ONLY do this in a dev partition.

If you don't have command line skills, don't even bother trying. Unless you are prepared to learn command line skills.

For the recod (I documented this elsewhere in the forum, I downgraded my 4.4.4pro to 4.4.4 gold. I also upgraded my 4.1.9 gold store to 4.5.3 gold plus. It can be done.
