My cart is setup to ship only within the United States.

Can setup the states to display as

" California " instead of " US: California " This is for the drop down box when the customer is registering.

Open up main/states.tpl and replace this:

{$states[state_idx].country_code}: {$states[state_idx].state}

with this:

{$states[state_idx].state}

Haven't tested it, but that should do the trick.

Just the edit I was looking for & wanted to report that it seems to work fine in my modifed X-Cart. Thanks for posting!
