I have developed changes for version 4, so that the alternate currency will display for which the customer is visiting from.

ie. Customer browsing my store from UK, then main currency will be Aussie Dollars (billing currency), and alternate currency will be (GBP)

If a customer is browsing from Australia, then no alternate currency is displayed, only AUD dollars...

Again, US customers would get AUD and billing, and USD for alternate.

This question is so simple that anybody can answer it. I deleted the code to display the GBP symbol, can somebody tell me what it was... also is there a code for the Euro...

If anybody is interested in this mod, then let me know... and I might make it available.

The way it works, is that it has a new IP table, with all IP ranges, and country codes for the IP ranges etc, the exchange rates and currency codes are maintained via admin, in the countries table. So you really need to update the exchange rates regular (I will do it once a week from a rate sheet, and should only take a minute or two).

I am not setting all currencies, if you are visiting fom a country that does not have a currency set, then it will use the default.

Also, this could be modified to stop traffic at your site, from countries that you do not want to deal with. (ie. You may only want to sell within the US) So all that other traffic is eating into your servers performance and bandwidth....

So, please let me know the GBP and EUR text codes ? Thanks.

Hi,

This mod will be released on my site shortly, I have come across some bugs in 4.0.2 which have been reported to X-CART, I am awaiting a fix, patch, or releaes of 4.0.3 before releasing this mod.

Note: Testing has been completed, and it works great, just waiting for the above issues to be resolved.

At this stage the development version will only be for 4.x.

Would be happy to build for 3.5.x if you require, however, cost would be actual time to convert.

I have just posted my mod for displaying alternate currencies based on the visiting (shopper) country.

This is great for anybody who is shipping international, or possibly shipping across Europe or UK with Euro's etc..

Hi Garry,

I have a client who may be interested in your mod. They actually want to go one step further - they want to charge their US customers in USD, but charge all other customers in CAD. They already have a separate merchant account for each currency, so I guess they'll be getting a separate API Token for USD transactions.

Do you think that would eb a lot of work to set up?

They are located in UK, and should show your currency as the alternate currency if it is setup, else it will show x-cart default alternate currency, and if that is not setup then it will not show an alternate currency.
