Hi all,

I've created a new payment method and want to use the "Payment instructions" field to give some directions to the customer of what they should do to complete their order.

This field, though, doesn't seem to allow any styling - not even simple line breaks - and I'm wondering if it's possible at all?

At the moment, everything's running into one long paragraph which doesn't help with clarity.

This is on X-Cart Business 5.4.1.6.

Ah right - sorry I thought it was in the checkout.
I would need to place a test order to see it - so if that's not possible I wouldn't be able to advise really.

Attached is a screen shot of what I'm seeing, using some test text.

The text that shows as:

Call us on +44 1234 5678 We're here to help It would be great to hear from you

Should show as:

Call us on +44 1234 5678
We're here to help
It would be great to hear from you

And that is how I've entered it in the "Payment Instructions" box for the relevant payment method.

All I really want to do is to have the line breaks come through to the customer invoice so that any instructions I enter are easier to read.

Did you actually use html line breaks - thus:


Call us on +44 1234 5678<br />
We're here to help<br />
It would be great to hear from you

Yes, I did. They get stripped out when saving changes.

Payment instructions filed will include WYSIWYG editor in future updates to allow users use html codding inside payment description. Keep an eye on our blogposts with changelogs. Approximate branch that includes feature is 5.4.1.x

OK, so it's either wait, or look at doing a modification to remove the code that strips out the html.
Or modifying the invoice template to add that text directly.
