We are glad to announce that the new X-Cart v4.4.1 is now available for downloading in the "File area" section in your HelpDesk account at https://secure.qtmsoft.com. The distribution package is also available for downloading at http://www.x-cart.com/download.html.

v4.4.1 is a minor bug-fix release which also features improved stability and performance. For the detailed changes description see the CHANGELOG file included into the distribution package.

I was planning to do an upgrade from 4.3.2 to 4.4.0 this weekend but the DB upgrade for that has gone now. Any chance we can get this reinstated please?

I would give it a week or so for more people to use it and see what new bugs are discovered. It's been 1 day since release and 2 new bugs have been reported already, regarding seo and special offers module.

I was thinking of installing 4.4.1 in a separate folder on my live site to test with, then once I feel it's good-to-go, I'll point my domain name to that folder instead of the current one. Would there be any issues with this, considering how the x-cart license is setup?

You can install a copy in a subdirectory as long as it's not publicly accessible. Install it, close the store, develop it and then you can move it over where the live cart is. After testing all works of course.
