Boomer,

Is this what the guy from http://www.aheadgames.com is using.

I also like what he has done with the Main Categories with the changing of the section colors, how is that done? Any help on either of these would be cool.

No, Aheadgames has been up for awhile, I did this one a few nights ago.

Same aspect though, except he's doing it via php it seems vs using some js/css/dhtml to just expand upon click.

Color changes could be as easy as passing a variable at the end of the categories link.
