Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
There won't be upgrade script from 4.2.x to 4.3.x - only database upgrade. So any template modifications must be done in 4.3 from scratch

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
So considering the fact, that I've bought 4.2.3 20 days ago, if I just decide to start fresh with 4.3.0, how to get a new license and should I pay for it?

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
You don't need new license. 4.3 should be in your help desk download area - just download and install if you want to use 4.3 instead of 4.2.3. The license you already have can be used with any version and all future updates/upgrades are free (the license is one story regardless of the software version)

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
I am taking the time to start 4.3 from scratch and I am doing so in a subdirectory.
www.beta.mysite.com One of the licenses I have is for www.mysite.com which is a valid working store. I do not plan on moving the new version to the root until after the first of the year once everything is the way that I want it. Is there a way to get rid of all the evaluation notices so that I can ensure everything lines up and displays right or do I have to wait until I am redy to bring down the old version 4.1.12 Also once everything is in place I want to import my customer base only from 4.1.12 to 4.3. Can this be done? I wanted to bring the order history too but thanks to Paul I realize this would be a problem if my sku / product ID numbers are different. Any thoughts on any of this? Mike |

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
Hi,
Just upgraded to a fresh 4.3 install with new database. I decided on the light and lucid (3-column) template. The Store only seems to be compatible with IE. In Firefox and Google Chrome, the rating stars are messed up and the menu box text is missing. Please Help!!! What should I do at this point. Is there a patch for this? Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
It works fine in IE, however in FF it's hit and miss. In Google Chrome it's always screwed up.
Check it out in Google Chrome if you get a chance. Regards,

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
All looks good in Chrome too. You may need to clear your browser cache and also xcart cache.
run www.makkahmart.com/cleanup.php

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
Hi Steve,
That Cleanup.php and browser cache cleanup seemed to have done the trick! Thanks a bunch. I can move forward now. Regards, Mohammed

Re: X-Cart 4.3 released
I entered "phpmyadmin" and created a new database, calling it "xcart2" then I copyed the original database to the new "xcart2" ran the SQL patch on the copy, and except for one error, that I had to edit the patch, and remove that line (duplicate input) the patch completed successfully.
I then made a copy of my Store, and put it in a new folder (xcart2), and tryed to do the install on it. I set it to update the "config.php" only, and set everything for the new database, and new folder, and set it to do a "new install" but the install.php would not run, because it said the Install Key was invalid. I copied and pasted out of my original store CP, but it still said it was invalid. So I deleted the copy of the store, and copied the new install files to the new folder (xcart2) and ran the install with the Copied Database. Everything installed fine. I then went in to my ACP and checked all settings to make sure they were right. Now My question. Can I just copy this new install over the original store files to do the update? One other question while I'm on the subject. I have a large egoods database, and also image folder. I have noticed that on every update or new install if I leave these two folders in place when the install or upgrade gets to the Creating "Site Fingerprint" it hangs up. but if I remove those two folders then it completes fine. Is this normal? Michael
