With 1 License you'll be able to run up to 5 Shops. Add up to 5 Domains to your shop. Each domain can be configured seperately. Assign Products, Categories & Static Pages to certain Domains. Each Domains uses a diffrent Skin.

You wanna seperate your B2B Shop and Customer Shop? You have products which doesn't fit into your exisiting product assortment? Then this mod is your little helper in need!

Technically, according to the Qualiteam FAQ regarding X-Cart, you'll need to purchase a license per domain:

If you have several different domain names pointing to the same site with the same content, 1 license will be enough.

To clarify further, the bolded part of the "answer" would deal directly with your multidomain product's ability to configure each "store" differently, which means it would not appear to be the same site with the same content.

Nope you're not. The Mod has been created by the X-Cart team as a custom project. But they limited the Mod to 5 Domains. This is value how many Domains are allowed per License.

That's great, sounds like they've provided an exception then, which is excellent for many people here.

In that case, BCSE might need to revisit Qualiteam regarding their X-Mall addon (which requires an X-Cart license per domain).

Regarding your multidomain mod, do you happen to know which Qualiteam developers created the mod? Which developer often reflects in the quality of the mod, I know this is an important question for the more experienced X-Cart users here.

This is a great idea, but won't it break existing addins which required you to specify which domain it loads on like BCSE Engineering modules.

The mods will only work with the domain their are licensed with. but may be BSCE would relicense the mod for you. if not, PM me.

I use this mod, X-cart did a 4.1.9 version for me, interestingly they did not mention the 5 domain restriction to me! and tried to add more and it does, must check with them on this as I know they are very strict, also, using this mod is not as easy as it seems, forget most add-ons!

X-Cart just noticed it yet. And of course, i guess they live in fear

everyone would get this mod and doesn't need to buy a 2nd license *hehe*

Regarding Add Ons:
Of course the Add ons will only work with the domain you licensed it for. (If the mod has been encrypted). But for example:

Before i had X-Cart to finish my project, i contacted WebsiteCM and the answer i got, if you buy a mod, just add ALL your domains into the primary domain field and add it to your cart.
The same answer i got from Altered Cart.

So i would suggest ask them if its possible to update the mods with your new domains.

To have an addon working for your multiple domains, just upload the core files once, and copy the tpl. files of your addon to each skin folder.

was thinking about adding this mod, does anyone have a list of mods that do and do Not work this it.
I have a few mods from websitecm.com and bsce
and how does SSL certs and seals work with it?
