I've logged in admin and used edit templates/images to upload my new image but it wioll not show up. I also deleted another image and tried to put it back up but unfortunately has not worked.

The picture uploads fine, but what am I missing to get it to show up?

Also, how do I link this image so it links to another page?

You upload the image to the skin1/images directory. You then call it like this:

<img src="{$ImagesDir}/imagename.jpg" alt="">

One more question lol-i'm a noob, how do you get to skin1? I was there and closed it and I can't find it. Is it in the php or in admin?

To upload images, you need to use FTP (File Transfer Protocol). You can do this via your browser or via an FTP client like CuteFTP or WSFTP. To edit templates, you do that via the admin area.
