Default Need a little editing help please.

Looking for some help resolving a few issues and need to know what to change if someone would not mind helping. I have searched the forums and going nuts trying to find a sticky on how to:

#1 Change the printable invoice layout so that the shipping info is where the billing info is and vise versa.

#2 Would like to know who is on the site rather than unregistered user. There is no way to tell if it is a shopping customer or a bot/crawler.

#3 How to you keep crawlers or bots from showing as a customer online or allowing them to crawl your site freely. Or do I need them to.

#4 Why in the world is the customer's locality NOT sent when a customer registers. Is there a way to make this a forced set of information they have to fill out in the address book. What use is the address book and how did this change make sense?

#5 Terribly sorry for having to put this in the forums like this but I am very new.... ok pathetic at changing these things and help seems to be very limited or extremely expensive. Seems like here it is go figure it out.

Thank you for the help. I have to save every one of the last 10 hairs on my head I own.

css and html knowledge is the absolute minimum to have. to modify templates you need to know smarty

1. You need to modify skin/common_files/mail/html/order_invoice.tpl
2. I am not sure you can distinguish between both
3. You need bots to be able to crawl the site, at least the good bots. That's how your site gets indexed by Google for example. You can restrict bots with robots.txt (not all bots respect it though)
4. You can change what info customer is required to fill out during registration from admin settings user profiles
5. There is a huge amount of free help here in the forum but not everything can be just explained and if anyone works on your site they deserve to get paid

There used to be a mod where you could see the ip's of peeps logged into the site and know if it was "generally" a bot or a human by the ip and how many times the same ip was on. It seems that mod does not work for the 4.4.x yet.

#4 above: I have all the "wants" selected in the admin side of the cart, name address, city , state, country, email and phone.... but only the name, email and phone are coming through as e-mail when customer registers for the site. Is there some page that is modified to grab those fields and send to the email that is mod-able?

#5. Yes I do pay people all the time for their help. It just seems like normal support is not the same as xcart support. That is all I was saying. Sorry that might not have come across right.

Make the form fields mandatory to force customers to fill them out. If info still not in the email the email template was modified or it may be a bug in 4.4.3?

If by "normal support" you mean the forum you are misunderstanding the purpose of it. This is not support, anybody posting in here or answering questions is a volunteer, doing it on their own time and if they know the answers and if they want to share. If you need a definate answer/help with XC you should contact QT or any other developer here on the forum for professional help. Don't get me wrong - most of the time you will get answers here on the forum but they may not help you or may come days after your question

No the Forum Support is awesome. That was not what I was referring to.

The settings are selected. The customer is "Not" required to fill out the address book info tho by the registration process tho. That I think is where the problem is but not really sure if that is what was intended by introducing the "address book" to the registration process. 4.1.x was what I had before and all fields had to be entered that were set as mandatory before a customer was "registered". Now they can just enter login name and pw and they seem to be registered.

This is why you don't get any address book entries - most customers will not fill out info that is not required. You can get customers to register with email/username and password only but if you want to have any address info you have to force them to fill it out by making it required. There is also this in 4.4.x (maybe you are referring to this) that address book is separated from the regular register process and it just doesn't show up at register.

Yes, the cart is setup to require them to add the information, and yes that is what I was referring to is that something that was working for me now does not and I am unsure as to how to make it work. Remember I have all settings enabled for them to have to enter their info when registering and the address portion is set to enable as well.

Thanks for your help Steve!
