Is there any way that we control the Customer reviews.

Like until we approve those will not be shown as Customer reviews.
else an email notification a soon as review is posted.

There is. Unfortunately the reviews part of X-cart seems more like a programmers after-thought and had to rush it in 20 minutes before getting off work.

You'll need a mod, such as one of these:

Agreed, ought to be part of the X-Cart reviews module, crazy why they've left that out.

The 'Image Verification' module does not cut it.
