I found something that might be a help.
I recomend downloading UltraEdit-32
Then download the Smarty Syntax Highlighting for UE-32. This will make editing & reading the tpl files alot easyer.

Hi,
I recommend what BOOMER has done in converting the debug_templates. I converted my debug_templates file when using v3.1.3a to show all the variables I needed, this was the first bit of customising I did, once I began to understand how xcart was put together. It help me to check that my own variables were working, and confirmed they were working in the right place. e.g. $usertype=A,P,C, $mode=update, $login=name etc. I'm now on to my second mod of v3.2.1, and my 3rd mod of the debug_template file. If you are doing heavy customising of Xcart, converting the debug file to show the variables is a MUST tool, it sounds like BOOMER has done a slick conversion, my file is still rough n ready, as I keep adding to it on the fly, so save yourself a lot of head scratching, and check BOOMERS debug file. Regards,
