Arrow thumbnail resolution

Hello,

I take pictures at 640 X 480, so I was wondering which size should I convert/resize the thumbnails ? I'm having average results with my thumbnails showed on x-cart at featured products... as my thumbnails pics tends to be "noisy" or perhaps "sharpy" (probably resized by the x-cart parameters?) at the shopping car interface

Look the third product at the featured products:

but when you click in the same product, the image is good again:

When you go at "add new product", they say to attach thumbnails of: "50x50-150x150)".... but there is no square picture par default when you take pictures with a digital camera. Should I reshape all my future pics to look like a square?

I guess, it is a so sample problem that I make a lot of it. But need to know! Sorry !

Default Re: thumbnail resolution

Hello ...

The text "50x50-150x150" is just a language variable ... you dont have to go off those dimentions.

X-Cart does have a setting in the General Settings > Appearance options section called:
Thumbnail width in the products list. As default it's set to 125.

Meaning if the uploaded thumbnail image is smaller than 125px in width, it will strech it to 125px or if it's bigger than that it will scale it down (not physically how something like imagemagick does, but just by some html paramaters)

Hope that helps (and made some sence )

Regards
