Default placing ONLOAD into the <body> tag........how???

will these two onload handlers work together?
<BODY leftmargin="0" topmargin="0" rightmargin="0" bottomargin="0" marginwidth="0" ONLOAD="preloadImages();" marginheight="0"{if $body_onload ne ''} onload="{$body_onload}"{/if}>

I am out of my mind
