Has in anyone worked on a new mod or know what I need to do to add related product thumnails on my product.tpl page (where the single inlarged image is)? I have items I'm selling that have acessories that go wih each item and it would be great if they could also see and click on the assessories on the product.tpl page?

You could use the upselling mod. to show products and thumbs as per your selection. There are many posts regarding the addition of images and the such for upselling, see recommended and featured products.
