Is picture layering possible with php.
We make braided rugs and a a few set patterns. Customers always want to see how a pattern looks with the colors they choose. I figured this could be done by taking a picture of an oval rug in all of our colors and resizing the pictures with a transparent background. A pattern the could be distinguished by stacking the pictures on top of each other starting with the largest picture first. Is something like this even possible?

Yes, but it wouldn't be limited on PHP. Probably the simplest way would to make separate JPEG/GIFs for each rug pattern and then when the customer clicks on the desired pattern it replaces the picture with the specfic pattern picture.

With 100+ colors and patterns that can contain up to 5 different colors make a picture of each possible pattern would not be feasible.
