Holy crap, my wife and I were just discussing this the other day. Expect me to sign up shortly.

Off topic, but any DHL in the works? FedUp can blow me, but DHL is second to none as an alternative to USPS. Xcart does not even calculate shipping for DHL! My only shipping gripe so far.

That's what I'm aiming for. I really want everything ready for the November shopping season.

I'm working on it.

Thanks,

This easy to install sofware is only easy to install if you are a programmer.

You have to go and download Ioncube and use a program to extract it and other items in an x-cart directory on your server. That is just beyond me to do. I can edit files and upload like all mods I have installed to date require. I am a web designer and writer, not a programmer.

I also did not see any install help available on the site. Just something about MD5Checksums for the program. It appears that you also have to match all the MD5Checksums on your server with code that is provided on the site. Not in the install file. Not that I know how to do any of that either as you have to execute it using the MD5 Filename command???? Beleive me when I say that installing this program is well beyond most of us here.

Let me know if this installation process get's simplified.

No disrespect intended, but I am not a programmer, designer or writer and I was able to install this myself. I agree, it is not as simple as some of the mods available, but with the install directions in the install file and support from Nate if needed, it can be done. The ioncube install was not that bad.

I install cgi and php programs all the time, but I do not have the know how to execute programs on my server with a terminal type software program and that is what all this entails. I have no clue what executing a long string of MD5 commands is, which was on his site and not in the install instructions. I am actually afraid to attempt this install as I know it is beyond my ability and I am afraid of messing something up. So say what you want, this program is impossible to install for someone who does not know how to extract programs and execute server commands through ssh terminal type software. So no disrespect intended, but I cannot install this & I installed x-cart and all my mods myself. I have installed many many other programs on my server, but none of them had these requirements. They all gave you alternative install instructions for those that cannot execute shell commands on their servers. This software does not provide anything like that.

I would appreciate if you would contact my tech support address: support@workingmansoftware.com when you run into technical issues.

The system does not require using MD5 as you indicate above. The MD5 values are provided for people who wish to protect the validity of their server and make sure that the software they are downloading matches the source software found on my webserver. This is simply an extra security measure and are not included in the install instructions because it is not necessary to do.

Installing my software requires the following commands:

chmod
ls
unzip (or you can unzip using StuffIt or WinZip)
mkdir

Most users would find this to be basic web functionality. Basic FTP clients can usually do all of these commands for users who do not have terminal access.

I provide installation services at $70/hr and installation takes between 1-2 hours depending on the complexity of your server install.

My software is complex. Compared to most other mods, it is 10-30 times more complex than simple web templates and other mods out there. It is a difficult procedure to interact with other servers, create PDFs and store PDFs.

Thus, my software does require some level of technical expertise to install. However, I believe the Endicia Integrator should be installable by a fairly novice level user. I will be releasing a version that is easier to install sometime in the next year, but you should expect my software to take between 4-6 hours to install and get working.

In the long run, it will save you many, many times that many hours.

Thanks,
--Nate

Also, as TA mentioned above, I am happy to guide you through the install process. As we've discussed, I try to answer all emails within 48 hours and answer most very quickly (a matter of minutes or hours). Although, as we have noted, I have missed a couple (literally).

I do not wish to fill this forum up with technical mumbo jumbo, however, and only support my software via email (or phone for paid customers). So, if you wish to begin the installation process now, just send me an email and we'll get going.

Otherwise, I do expect to create an alternate install procedure, but I figured it was better to get my software out there for those who could handle it. It is very time consuming to make automated installers, but I am planning one and you may wish to wait for it.

Thanks,
--Nate

DHL is a possibility. I haven't looked into it yet though. I am planning UPS and FedEx as well. So, why not add in DHL?

I'll post here when new versions are availalble.

Using Endicia alone takes us about 10-15 minutes a day & that might be cut in half with this software. It would be nice, but not necessary considering the time and cost of buying, installing and the annual fee. If we start shipping hundreds of products a day then it would probably be cost effective.

I just wanted to mention that about 35 minutes of toil has been cut down to under a minute, thanks to the 4 on a page USPS printing offered by Nate's Endicia mod. (someday, when his mod does GPM and GEM for internationals, too, I'll just melt!!)

I can't even begin to tell you how much that under 1 minute Endicia mod times compares to all the manual labor otherwise. I'm a stay at a home mother of a beautiful almost 2 year old, and let me say right now -- sometimes a solid minute is all I have, so thank god for Nate's mod!

Whether it's right for you or not, well... if you value your time at all, I'd have to say that one of Nate's mail mods is ESSENTIAL. Depending on how much $ you value your time at, this mod could easily pay for itself in just 3 to 5 days. If you get paid a LOT for what you do, it'll probably pay for itself the very first day.

Highly recommend.

Jasmin

PS -- Nate is a good guy, too. Not always easy for me to get to him by email (I think his server marks too much stuff as spam), just like another person complained of, BBBBUT he responds fast to his help desk messages. So far, even faster than BCSE (and I love those guys!), even when I needed customization. In short, I think Nate's a real sweetheart. I honestly can't say enough good things about the treatment I've received or the software.
