Hi Guys,

I have came in to the office today to find our site's layout all messed up.

Here is what is happening.

You can see the menu isn't showing correctly (it should be the tree menu) and also the slider and other bits and pieces aren't working.

Anyone got any ideas what has caused this? I'm not sure where to start looking as I haven't changed anything recently.

Any help would be appreciated.

Seems to be working now, your CSS was not loading for some reason.

Hi Phil,

Still not working here.

I have reset cache on browsers, used different browsers and it still looks the same.

All of the testimonials are showing, the tabs arent showing and the vert menu is still showing fully open.

Strange, I am seeing a working tree category menu, slider etc. in Firefox and Chrome.

Maybe try start > run > ipconfig /flushdns

Reboot your PC and router etc.

That's bizarre Phil, I have tried flushing the dns and have tried it on 3 different computer one being a MBP and they are all showing the same.

Strangely I just tested it on my phone and it works fine.

could it be an issue with my ISP causing this? Never seen an issue like this before.

EDIT: Just tested it on a remote machine on a different network and its working fine as you said.

I can't get my head round why it would'nt work on any of our machines on this network but its fine outwith the network.

ok Phil looks like I have resolved it. Well to a degree anyway.

On Friday I was asked by one of the directors of the company I work for to block all access to facebook. I did this by blocking the facebook.com domain name from the firewall. This worked on some computers but not others for some reason but it also seems to have stopped the CSS loading on our page on all our computers.

I have now removed the Facebook block from the firewall and now the site works fine.

Very strange. I wonder if its detecting the word Facebook in the CSS files and blocking them from being loaded?

Thanks for the help anyway mate, guess I'm going to have to figure out how to stop people from using facebook in the office another way.

Hi Phil,

With Product Page Layout - there is the setting:use standard X-Cart tabs below

Is there any way to set a specific tab to be opened as standard (related products in my case) - now it is send to a friend.

I took a look at common_files/customer/main/ui_tabs.tpl but can't seem to figure out how to get this done.

Do I need to change something in another file and/or can you tell me how to get this done?

Hi Phil,

I'd like your help if possible with a sort error (404) only in I.E on my site.

FF and Chrome work but I.E. versions 8 and 9 (I have not tested versions 10) fail because of an insertion of 'home.php' into the URL as follows:

Regarding the product sort function in skin/ability/customer/main/search_sort_by.tpl.

To get the sort to work on FF and Chrome I had to remove '/' in front of $url on line 3 and $cur_url on line 10 and 11. Looks like it was added to make I.E. work for someone on the xcart forum by in July.

With the slash e.g., /$cur_url, in I.E. I get a 404 error when sorting by price.

Returned Result: (missing '?')

Without the slash (which makes FF and Chrome work) IE also fails with 404 error because of the 'home.tpl' insertion. (Why is home.php inserted?)

I was able to fix my problem by going back to the original code and inserting a '?'.

I have just installed the rich snippet module on my site. Is there any instructions for adding the patches to the Ability theme or will I have to work through the patch files and do it manually?
