Any way to enhance Advanced Search to include "date add

Default Any way to enhance Advanced Search to include "date add
Wondering if it were possible to have the Advanced Search to allow the option to sort by date added? I think this would be very useful for customers who want to know what we may have added in the past month, 2 months, etc.

Has anyone come up with a way (unless I am totally blind, didn't see any option for this out-of-the-box)?

I think the easiest way would be to use an extra field as an additional sort by....like here:

you can add this option to the search file. include/search.php i think. i know ive done it before but cant remember where exactly

it uses the date added that gets assigned when products are imported (oddly enough)
